The Garrison Mill Educational Foundation was established in 2007 as a non-profit organization that raises money for the purpose of improving our school by providing funding for programs such as technology, curriculum and facility improvements.
The Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt charitable organization and is incorporated as an educational non-profit foundation. This enables the Foundation to receive employer matching grants and apply for educational grant monies.

Our Mission
The Garrison Mill Educational Foundation is dedicated to support the mission and vision of our school. We will accumulate and distribute resources beyond those provided by Cobb County or the PTA, in order to further enhance, foster and enrich the educational experiences of all students at Garrison Mill.
How does GME Foundation raise money/items for the school?
• Contributions in the form of tax-deductible individual donations, employee-matching grants, charitable organization grants and corporate donations
• Garrison Mill Greyhound Gala and Auction
• Dunk Tank at the Fall Festival
• GMEF Breakfast
• Boosterthon Fun Run
• Basket Raffle
• mycokerewards.com is matching every point you donate to our school. That means every point donated is worth double and helps us get the items our school needs. Simply get the codes from inside cartons and under bottle caps of Coke products you purchase.
The 2009 Boosterthon was a Success! Thanks to the funds raised we installed a new computer lab for grades K – 2. we will be installing a new computer lab! Instead of our kids attending computer lab one time every 2 weeks, they now attend weekly!
We are proud that in conjunction with the PTA and donations of interactive white boards from Promethean World every homeroom class is now equipped with a ‘Promethean Board’ – 38 total!!!
Garrison Mill is one of the most technologically advanced and best prepared to launch our children to “infinity and beyond”!!! –Buzz Lightyear catch phrase in case you missed it!

What are the Foundation’s current goals?
With the donations from our GM communityand monies raised through our fundraisers, the GME Foundation will:
• Enrich science curribulum by funding an additional High Touch High Tech class for grades K – 4
• Continue to equip both Computer Labs with hardware and educational software programs to stay up to date with 21st century technology
• Expand After-School Enrichment Program offerings

What are the Foundation’s investment processes?
• Requests for funds must be aligned with agreed upon objectives
• All purchasing requests are submitted to the Executive Board by the GMEF Executive Board member
• Executive Board members review and approve all requests
